Women's role in productionOne of India's most thoroughly documented women-led craft economies: Kutch's many embroidery styles (Ahir, Rabari, Soof, Mutava and others) are practised almost entirely by women of the region's pastoralist and farming communities, widely organised into women's craft cooperatives.

Why this fits a low-wastage SHG model: A finished textile/accessory product with indefinite shelf life and one of the best-documented women-led craft clusters in India.
